Types of Wastewater Screen
The wastewater screens produced by our company mainly include the following types

Mechanical Bar Screen
When mechanical bar screen is working, the reduction motor drives the chain wheel to rotate, and the chain wheel drives the grid plate to rotate continuously. Wastewater enters the mechanical screen and is filtered through the screen; After filtration, the dirt is trapped on the internal surface of the screen, which is carried to the top by the continuous rotation of the screen.

Rotary Drum Screen
Rotary drum screen consists of a Storage tank, frame, drum, slag plate, inspection door, reduction motor, and backwash water inlet. Its main function is to filter fine particles such as suspended particles, sediments, and organic matter in fluids, in order to achieve cleaning, purification, and refinement.

Channel Grinder
The channel grinder crushes solid substances, suspended solids, and slender fibers in the conveying medium into small particles, which flow away with the sewage. Suitable for the installation and use of integrated pump stations with small, medium, and high flow rates, with strong cutting power and energy savings.
Features of Wastewater Screen
The dual blade shaft uses gears to transmit torque, and through a certain transmission ratio, the dual shafts operate at different speeds, which can increase the tearing ability of solids.
A lower operating speed (typically 35~70rpm) can generate higher torque, and the lower circumferential speed of the blade ensures that energy is not wasted on water loss, while minimizing wear and tear rates.
Blades with different rotational speeds can tear fibrous materials, the front and side edges of the teeth can shear plastic into fragments, and the peripheral plane of the blade can also crush brittle objects.
The speed of the driving shaft and the driven shaft is different to facilitate the self-cleaning of slag between the blades.
The blades used are arranged in left and right spiral shapes after being installed on the driving shaft and driven shaft to reduce cutting force and improve the transmission stability of the crusher.
Independent cutting blades and washers, easy to replace and maintain, and cost-effective.
High strength alloy steel is used for cutting blades and gaskets.
The horizontal gap between the cutting blade, gasket, and shaft should not exceed 0.2mm to ensure the normal driving of the cutting blade, reduce wear, and increase the pressure on the gasket.
High quality mechanical seals are used in the bearing area to ensure the normal operation of the bearing.
Applications of Wastewater Screen Equipment
Sewage treatment
Widely used in sewage treatment plants and urban sewers, its main function is to crush solid waste in sewage into small particles, prevent blockages in sewers and treatment equipment, and ensure the normal operation of water treatment equipment.
Garbage treatment
In garbage treatment, the combination of crushing grid and spiral pressing system can improve the solid garbage treatment process and reduce treatment costs.
Industrial applications
In the fields of papermaking, chemical industry, etc., grinding grids are used for solid waste crushing and treatment in industrial pipelines. It can crush raw materials and filter out the required particle size through a sieve, widely used in material processing and reuse.
The specific spacing between the bars of the screen gives rise to several levels of screening. We distinguish :
● The pre-screening when the screen has a spacing higher than 40 mm,
● Medium screening when the screen has a spacing strictly between 40 mm and 10 mm,
● Fine screening when the spacing of the screen is strictly between 10 mm and 6 mm,
● Ultra fine screening or sieving when the screen spacing is strictly between 0.5 mm and 6 mm.
Precautions to Take When Using Wastewater Screen
In order to obtain an optimal application of the suspended solids in the water to the screen during the screening, several parameters must be taken into account. These are the void coefficient, the surface area and the width of the screen. The angle of inclination of the screen as well as its clogging coefficient must also be calculated precisely according to the quality of the water to be treated. The objective is to avoid a deep clogging of the bars of the screen, to prevent the passage of water with the waste and to keep a significantly high head loss.
Therefore, when the screen is clogged, the maximum flow of water allowed to pass should be between 0.5 and 1.2 meters per second. Similarly, in the channel leading to the screen, the approach velocity of the wastewater should be between 0.5 and 0.7 m/s -1, regardless of the flow. The automatic screens should be about 75% clogged (this rate is expressed in terms of the free wetted section) if the distance between the bars is less than 5 mm. It is about 50% when the spacing is between 5 mm and 10 mm. Finally, a spacing of 25% is tolerable if the spacing is greater than 10 mm.
