Decanter Sbr System

The SBR decanter system is composed of a collection trough, weir, scum-blocking float, pipes, electric push rod, and other components. When decanting starts, the electric push rod is slowly lowered under variable-frequency control, and the lowering speed is determined by the preset decanting time and stroke height. When the lower limit is reached, the lower travel limit switch is activated and the motor stops. After a short delay (adjustable via the time controller), the motor reverses and rapidly lifts the decanter at power-frequency speed. When the upper limit is reached, the upper travel limit switch is triggered and the motor stops. One decanting cycle is then completed. The system waits for the start of the next cycle, which is also controlled by the time controller.

The SBR decanter system is an essential piece of specialized equipment used in the sequencing batch reactor (SBR) process, also known as the intermittent aeration method. This process treats activated sludge in a single reaction tank through successive stages of influent filling, aeration, sedimentation, and decanting.

Working principle

 

The SBR decanter is mounted on a support frame with bearings and is installed inside the wastewater treatment tank. The electric push rod reduction device is mounted on the support above the tank. When the motor operates, the electric push rod performs reciprocating motion, driving the decanter mechanism to rotate and swing around the rotation center of the lower support. During the aeration and sedimentation stages, the decanter remains above the water surface. During the decanting stage, the decanter is lowered below the water surface by the control system to discharge treated water. When the water level reaches the lowest set point and decanting is completed, the decanter rapidly returns to its initial position.

 

During the decanting process, the water entering the decanting weir remains in a laminar flow state, and the controlled descending speed of the decanter ensures a stable discharge rate. The float functions as a scum-blocking plate during decanting.

All underwater components are made of stainless steel, providing long service life and excellent corrosion resistance.

The equipment uses an electric push rod as the drive mechanism, offering a compact structure, high thrust, easy installation, smooth operation, and reliable performance.
