Upper temperature limit of aerobic pool
1. Suitable temperature range: The suitable temperature of aerobic pool is generally 20℃ - 30℃. Within this temperature range, the activity of microorganisms is high, and nitrification and denitrification can proceed normally.
2. Effect of high temperature: When the temperature exceeds 40℃, the nitrification function will be significantly affected, and the ammonia nitrogen removal rate will drop sharply. When the temperature reaches 45℃, aerobic digestion and nitrification almost stop.
Upper temperature limit: In actual operation, the temperature of the aerobic pool should be controlled below 40℃ as much as possible. If the temperature exceeds 40℃, the nitrification function may collapse, and emergency measures need to be taken.
Cooling measures
1. Install cooling tower
(1) Front-end cooling: Install a cooling tower at the front of the aerobic pool to effectively reduce the inlet water temperature by 7-8°C.
(2) Applicable scenarios: Applicable to sewage treatment plants with large water volumes and high inlet water temperatures.
2. Spray cooling
(1) Spray system: Spray the aerobic pool to cool it down and reduce the pool water temperature through evaporative heat dissipation.
(2) Applicable scenarios: Applicable to small and medium-sized sewage treatment plants, especially those that require rapid cooling.
3. Ventilation and heat dissipation
(1) Install axial flow fan: Install an axial flow fan above the aerobic pool to enhance air circulation and reduce the pool water surface temperature.
(2) Applicable scenarios: Applicable to sewage treatment plants with small pools or poor ventilation conditions.
4. Heat exchanger
(1) Heat exchange equipment: Use a heat exchanger to pre-cool the inlet water. Applicable to sewage treatment plants with small water volumes.
(2) Applicable scenarios: Applicable to sewage treatment plants with high requirements for temperature control.
5. Adding ice cubes
(1) Physical cooling: When the amount of water to be treated is small, ice cubes can be directly added to the aerobic pool for physical cooling.
(2) Applicable scenarios: Applicable to emergency situations or small sewage treatment plants.
6. Optimizing the aeration system
(1) Increasing the aeration volume: By increasing the aeration volume, the dissolved oxygen level in the water body is increased, and the impact of high temperature on microbial activity is alleviated.
(2) Applicable scenarios: Applicable to all aerobic pools, especially when high temperature causes a decrease in dissolved oxygen.
7. Microbial enhancement
(1) Adding high-temperature resistant bacteria: In a high-temperature environment, adding domesticated high-temperature resistant nitrifying bacteria can improve the system's ability to resist high temperatures.
Applicable scenarios: Applicable to sewage treatment plants that have already experienced high temperature problems, and can quickly restore nitrification function.
Preventive measures
1. Real-time temperature monitoring
- Install temperature sensors: Install temperature sensors in the aerobic pool to monitor water temperature changes in real time and take cooling measures in time.
2. Optimize process operation
(1) Control inlet water temperature: Control the inlet water temperature within an appropriate range by adjusting the inlet water flow rate or taking cooling measures.
(2) Adjust aeration time: Flexibly adjust aeration time and aeration volume according to temperature changes to ensure sufficient dissolved oxygen.
3. Equipment maintenance
(1) Regularly check equipment: In a high temperature environment, the heat dissipation efficiency of the equipment is reduced. It is necessary to regularly check the operating status of equipment such as blowers and aeration heads.
(2) Ventilation and heat dissipation: Install axial flow blowers in the equipment room to ensure good heat dissipation of the equipment.
