The multimedia water filter primarily uses activated carbon and organic flocs with high carbon content, large molecular weight, and a large specific surface area to physically adsorb impurities in water, meeting water quality requirements. When water flows through the pores of activated carbon, various suspended particles, organic matter, and other contaminants are adsorbed into the pores under the action of van der Waals forces. At the same time, chlorine (hypochlorous acid) adsorbed on the surface of activated carbon undergoes a chemical reaction on the carbon surface, reducing it to chloride ions. This process effectively removes chlorine and ensures that the residual chlorine content in the effluent is less than 0.1 ppm, meeting the operating conditions of the RO membrane.
When the multimedia water filter is in the filtering state, unfiltered water is evenly distributed through a unique water distributor, and the water passes through the multi-media layer inside the filter in a laminar flow state. As the water flows through the multi-media layer, impurities are trapped within the packing material. There are multiple uniformly distributed, unique water collection devices at the bottom of the filter, which evenly collect and extract the filtered water. Horizontal flow filtration enables the filter to process high flow rates while still achieving good filtering results.
